Senatobia, MS (04/30/2024) — Northwest Mississippi Community College's Heindl Center for the Performing Arts will welcome Christian rock singer, Colton Dixon, to the stage on May 17 at 7:30 p.m.

Dixon famously made his appearance on "American Idol" where he made it to the top 7, performing songs like "Decode" by Paramore, "Piano Man" by Billy Joel, and others. Originally, Dixon is from Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and was a member of the Christian band, Messenger.

Dixon takes musical influences from the likes of Paramore, Lifehouse, Evanescence, Switchfoot and Skillet. Sticking true to some alternative rocker roots, his sound has the same elements that listeners love in those bands.

"We are thrilled to welcome Colton Dixon to the Heindl Center stage for an electrifying concert experience," said Dr. Blake Bostick, director of the Heindl Center for the Performing Arts. "Colton Dixon rose to fame on the 11th season of "American Idol."
