Brittany Burns of Byhalia Named to 2013 Northwest Rangerette Team

Brittany Burns of Byhalia is one of 16 women named to the 2013 Northwest Mississippi Community College's dance team, the Rangerettes, according to Aime Anderson, director of Campus Life and Housing and one of the team's instructors.

Tryouts were held on the Senatobia campus on April 26 and 27. Sixteen women were selected for the team, which performs with the Ranger Band at all home and a few away football games during the fall semester. In addition, the Rangerettes perform at halftime of the home basketball games for the fall semester and in the Senatobia Christmas Parade. Rangerettes are eligible for a $745 Fine Arts Scholarship for the fall semester. The other instructor for the Rangerettes is Joy Ross.

The captain of the new team is Elainna Ferrell of Hernando. The team also includes Brittany Burns and Samantha Staggs, both of Byhalia; Fenisha Chatmon of Charleston, Shanda Cunningham and Savannah Mask, both of Coldwater; Leslie Dudley of Grenada; Candace Hubbert and Ashley Hunt, both of Olive Branch; Straunje Jackson of Nesbit, Alicia Lemons of Cleveland, Allie Mahoney and Caroline Ouch, both of Southaven; Ashley Moore of Hernando, Heather Pate of Greenwood, Brainna Patton of Como and Madison Pickett of Independence.
