David Mclendon pinned at Northwest Nursing ceremony

2014 Jan 7

David Mclendon of Hernando was among 56 Northwest Mississippi Community College Nursing students who participated in the pinning ceremony held December 13, 2013 at the Trinity Baptist Church in Southaven, celebrating their completion of the Associate of Arts in nursing.

After a processional and invocation lead by Marsha Hopkins, class vice president from Southaven, Dean of Nursing, Ellen Williams, welcomed attendees, presented the faculty and introduced the keynote speaker for the evening, Dr. John Larry Black, emergency department physician, Team Health, who offered the address to the graduates.

Williams awarded pins adorned with the Division of Nursing seal as Nursing instructor Olivia Russom presented each of the graduates to the crowd. Class President Yostin McKelroy of Hernando offered the student address, after which Class Grievance Council member Whitney Clark of Oxford lead the graduates and faculty in the Nurses' Pledge. Class Secretary Sarah Work of Holly Springs made the closing remarks and Class Treasurer LaDonna Ricks of Como offered the benediction.
