Jasmine Bradford Participates in Criminal Justice Club at Northwest

2012 Nov 2

Jasmine Bradford of Charleston is among several students at Northwest Mississippi Community College who are participating in the recently formed Northwest Criminal Justice Club (NCJC). NCJC was re-introduced to Northwest by Whitney Nickels, criminal justice instructor.

NCJC accepts any and all majors that have a love and appreciation for law enforcement. NCJC is encouraging any and all students to come out and support and even join the club. Not only will students study and learn about different careers within the criminal justice field but will also be visited weekly from a branch of law enforcement. According to Nickels, a degree in criminal justice from Northwest allows students to find a career in any branch or form of the criminal justice field.

The club is sponsoring its first event, the Cops and Joggers 5K run, on Saturday, Nov. 10 on the Senatobia campus. The funds raised from the event will go towards the establishment of a Northwest Foundation scholarship in honor of longtime criminal justice instructor, Robert Cox.

For more information on Northwest's criminal justice program, contact Nickels at 662-562-3259 or e-mail wnickels@northwestms.edu.
