Leah Dill Named Part of Cast and Crew for Northwest's Production of "Slasher"

2012 Sep 20

Leah Dill of Olive Branch has been selected to be part of the cast and crew of Northwest Mississippi Community College's upcoming fall production of the dark comedy, "Slasher" by Allison Moore. Performance dates will be Thursday, Oct. 25 - Sunday, Oct. 28 in the Fine Arts Auditorium on the Senatobia campus.

Cast members are as follows: Katie Dunaway: Sheena, the "last" girl; Milly Rone: Frances, her mom; Leah Dill: Hildy, her sister; Cameron Jones: Mark, the director; Rhett Gamlin: Jody, the assistant; Abi Wiggins: Christi Garcia and others. Crew members are: Nic Temple, assistant director; Scottie Booker, stage manager; Yazmine Lynch, assistant stage manager; Abi Wiggins, set design; Darius Rogers, costume crew head and Jack McCarty, props master. Joel King, Northwest technical director, will provide lighting design for the play.

King also noted that there are plans for the audience to participate at the Saturday night performance, as there will be a Halloween costume contest at intermission.

In this horrifying hit comedy, Sheena thinks she's gotten her big break when she's cast as the "last girl" (last girl to be killed, that is) in a low-budget "slasher" flick. Unfortunately, news of the movie unleashes her malingering mother's thwarted feminist rage, and mom is prepared to do anything to stop the filming, even if it kills her. Funny and thrilling, with all the blood and gore horror movie fans could want, "Slasher" will have audiences laughing until they scream, according to Goldstar.com.

Showtimes are 7 p.m. at the Thursday through Saturday performances and 2 p.m. on Sunday. Admission prices are $5 for students and seniors and $10 for general admission.
