Nicole Martin visits MUW with Northwest

2012 Apr 27

Nicole Martin of Southaven was among seven Northwest Mississippi Community College students, accompanied by Business and Marketing Management Technology instructor Joshua Carroll, to visit the Mississippi University for Women on Friday, April 23 to apply for admission and scholarships to the university's Bachelor of Technology in general business, entrepreneurship or human resource management online starting this fall.

During their visit, the students learned that every credit from Northwest-DeSoto Center's Business and Marketing Management Technology program's two-year Associate of Science degree would transfer seamlessly into their program. They also learned five of the seven students are eligible to receive full-tuition transfer scholarships to MUW for being members of Phi Theta Kappa or maintaining high grade point averages-Cami Boling of Hernando, Nicole Martin of Southaven, Joyce Jeltz and Leighanna Keenum, both of Horn lake, and Lagouna Fondren of Batesville.

Boling will pursue the general business major at MUW this fall, and she is looking forward to completing her bachelor's completely online. "MUW is a very flexible institution that will bend over backward to serve their students' needs," said Boling. "The Business and Marketing Management Technology program at Northwest is a well-rounded curriculum that gives the student insight into the various disciplines available in the business world. What's huge is that the credits from Northwest's program are transferable to MUW."

The students will complete their program online through MUW's V3 College, which offers online degrees in a variety of curricula. V3 College is the newest "campus" at MUW, geared toward working professionals, adult learners needing to acquire new skill sets or just update skill sets and community college students seeking to complete their four-year degrees.
