The #4-ranked Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers (9-1) return to the MACCC Championship Game on Saturday, November 15, hosting #7 Mississippi Gulf Coast at Bobby Franklin Field in Senatobia. Kickoff is set for 2:00 P.M., marking the program's 4th championship appearance in the last five seasons under head coach Benjy Parker. With a share of the MACCC North Division title and one of the top defenses in the nation, the Rangers are seeking their 13th conference championship and a potential berth in the NJCAA Playoffs.
The Standard of Consistency: Head Coach Benjy Parker has led Northwest to three conference titles since 2020 and a 75-21 career record (.781).
Clutch in the Moment: Northwest punched its ticket to the title game with a dramatic 28-27 semifinal victory at Copiah-Lincoln, sealed by Elliott Helps' end-zone interception.
A Complete Team: The Rangers have posted over 400 yards per game of total offense and forced 33 sacks and 15 takeaways this season.
Balanced Attack: Quarterback Neko Fann (1,870 yards, 19 TDs) and running back Julius Pope (703 yards, 8 TDs) lead a balanced offense with 41 touchdowns.
Explosive Playmakers: M.J. Johnson and Keon Hutchins each have six touchdown receptions, including Hutchins' 216-yard, 3-TD performance vs. Southwest.
Northwest's defense has been the program's anchor all season, holding opponents to 46 rushing yards per game, with two shutouts and three defensive touchdowns. Leaders include Myles Miller (7.5 sacks), Jerry Wall III (4.5 sacks), and Chris Thomas (7.5 tackles-for-loss).
