Northwest Les Fauves Art Sale is April 24

by Sarah Smith

Senatobia, MS (04/16/2025) — Northwest Mississippi Community College is proud to announce the spring Les Fauves art sale hosted by the Northwest art department and art club students. The sale will be held on April 24 from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Art Gallery on the Senatobia campus.

The Les Fauves art sale is a beloved tradition at the college and happens twice a year, once at the end of the spring semester and once at the end of the fall semester. The sale serves as a fundraiser for the art department as well as the Les Fauves art club and serves as a teaching opportunity for the students. These sales showcase work from students and faculty, giving them real world experience selling and interacting with customers.

Ashley Chavis, an art instructor in the Fine Arts Department at Northwest, said this year's participation has been among the best yet and is perhaps the most they've ever had for a spring sale. There are many unique pieces going up for sale this year, including 3D works, printmaking pieces, mixed media, and ceramics.

"The students have worked incredibly hard to get work prepared," said Chavis. "We are so proud of their hard work. This will be the best spring sale that we have ever had!"
