Ranger Records Studio Band Set to Have their Second Annual Concert Nov. 10 at the Heindl Center for the Performing Arts
Senatobia, MS (11/05/2026) — Northwest Mississippi Community College's Ranger Records Studio Band is set to hold their second annual concert on Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Heindl Center for the Performing Arts.
During this concert, they are working with a fluid list of around 14 songs with a few that might be cut prior to the concert. They are focused mostly on rock that spans from the 1970s to present day. Entertainment Industry Studies instructor Jeff Triplett said that although the practices are less structured than say choir or band due to the nature of their group, each of these students are still working diligently on making the performance the best it can be. But audiences can expect to hear classics like Blue Oyster Cults' "Don't Fear the Reaper" and "Barracuda" by Heart.
"There will be songs you know and some you don't, but they will all be done well, which is what live music is about," said Triplett. "It's about more than the songs. It's about the energy the performers deliver and the excitement it produces in the audience members."
This past year, the students and faculty decided to rename the band from Ranger Rock Band to Ranger Records Studio Band to help showcase the skills they are working on in class and performing. The Band is made up of four sophomores and nine freshmen who are majoring in everything from Entertainment Industry Studies, Music Education, Musical Theatre, General Studies and Business.
Admission is free to the concert, and students, employees, and the community are welcome to come and listen to this performance.
