MEDIA INVITATION: No. 16 Northwest Volleyball Makes History with Perfect 36-0 Season - Region 23 Playoffs Wednesday

Senatobia, MS (10/22/2026) — MEDIA INVITATION | NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI COMMUNITY COLLEGE

36-0. UNDEFEATED. CHAMPIONS. AND THE STORY ISN'T FINISHED.

Northwest Mississippi Community College invites members of the media to Senatobia on Wednesday, October 28, as the nationally ranked No. 16 Northwest Rangers volleyball team begins postseason play in the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament at Howard Coliseum.

The Rangers have made history in just their third season of competition, completing a remarkable 36-0 regular season, including a perfect 10-0 conference record, and capturing the conference championship.

What makes this story even more remarkable is how quickly this program has risen. After winning the conference championship in its inaugural 2024 season, Northwest has continued building a championship culture, culminating in one of the most extraordinary seasons in the college's athletic history.

Now, with an undefeated record on the line, the Rangers are chasing something even bigger: a Region 23 championship and an opportunity to compete for a national title.

MEDIA COVERAGE OPPORTUNITY

Opponent: Lowest remaining tournament seed (to be determined)

Match Time: To be announced

A victory Wednesday would advance Northwest to the Region 23 semifinals on October 31, with the championship scheduled for November 1. Northwest is positioned to host both rounds with a quarterfinal victory.

We encourage television stations, newspapers, radio outlets, and digital media organizations to cover this remarkable team and its postseason journey. Opportunities for game coverage, photography, video highlights, and interviews with coaches and student-athletes can be coordinated in advance.

This is more than a winning season. It's the story of a young program making an extraordinary mark on Mississippi community college athletics, and a group of student-athletes who have yet to experience defeat in 2026.

We hope you'll join us Wednesday to help tell their story.
