Northwest Night at the Mid-South Monarchs set for Jan. 30 with Centennial jersey reveal, ticket give-back and postgame auction
Game-worn Northwest Centennial jerseys will be auctioned off players' backs to benefit the Northwest Foundation
Senatobia, MS (10/29/2026) — Northwest Mississippi Community College will take its centennial celebration to the ice on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2027, when the Mid-South Monarchs host the Baton Rouge Kingfish for Northwest Night at Landers Center in Southaven. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
Northwest students, employees, alumni, retirees and friends are invited to fill the stands for a night of professional hockey in the Monarchs' inaugural season and support the college at the same time. Tickets are $15, and $4 from every ticket purchased through the Northwest link goes directly back to the college.
Centennial jerseys on the ice
Northwest and the Monarchs teamed up to design a Northwest Centennial-themed jersey celebrating the college's 100th anniversary. The jersey will be unveiled in the weeks before the game, and the Monarchs will wear it on the ice against the Kingfish on Jan. 30.
When the final horn sounds, the game-worn jerseys will go to the highest bidders in a "jersey off your back" auction. Fans can place advance bids online before game night, and bidding closes live on the ice after the game, with each winner receiving a Centennial jersey straight from a Monarchs player. All auction proceeds benefit the Northwest Foundation, which supports scholarships and student success at Northwest.
"Northwest Night is a chance for the whole Northwest family to come together, cheer on a new hometown team and invest in our students at the same time," said Dr. Brad Smith, vice president of institutional affairs at Northwest. "As we celebrate 100 years, seeing our name on the ice and on those jerseys is a reminder of how far Northwest's reach extends across North Mississippi. Every ticket and every bid goes back to our students."
"The Monarchs were built to connect with this community, and few institutions mean more to North Mississippi than Northwest," said Andreas Johansson, CEO and Owner of Midsouth Monarchs. "We're proud to put their name on our sweaters for a night and send those jerseys home with fans for a great cause."
How to attend
Tickets are available at TicketMaster using code "NORTHWEST". Buying through the Northwest link ensures $4 from each ticket returns to the college. The jersey reveal and the online bidding link will be shared on Northwest's and the Monarchs' social media channels in the weeks leading up to the game.
