2018-2019 FAFSA application process opens Oct. 1

Senatobia, MS (09/21/2017) — Students planning to apply for the Fall 2018 or Spring 2019 semesters will be able to file their 2018-2019 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) beginning Oct. 1, according to Jennifer Luna, director of Financial Aid at Northwest Mississippi Community College.

Income tax information for the 2016 tax year will be needed to file the FAFSA® for the Fall 2018, Spring 2019 or Summer 2019 semester, Luna said.

In order to file, parents will need to provide their Social Security number, birthdate, a valid email address, a FAFSA® FSA ID (username and password) and their 2016 tax forms.

A student filing for the FAFSA will need their Social Security number, birthdate, valid email address, FAFSA® FSA ID (username and password), their 2016 tax forms, a driver's license and their Selective Service information (males).

"If you will be attending either the Spring 2018 or Summer 2018 semesters, you will need to complete a 2017-2018 FAFSA ® using 2015 tax returns. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the Financial Aid Office that is most convenient for you," Luna said.
