American Idol Winner Ruben Studdard is Coming to the Heindl Center June 12

Senatobia, MS (05/24/2024) — Ruben Studdard, American Idol season 2 winner, and season 12 American Idol winner Candace Glover are coming Northwest Mississippi Community College's Heindl Center for the Performing Arts on June 12 at 7:30 p.m.

Studdard is famous for appearance on American Idol in season two where he was dubbed the "velvet teddy bear." His R&B music touches the soul with depth and intensity. Paired with the powerhouse, Candace Glover, whose musical ability stands on its own.

"We are delighted to host a special evening featuring the soulful voices of Ruben Studdard and Candice Glover on Wednesday, June 12," said Dr. Blake Bostick, director of the Heindl Center. "The winner of season 2 of American Idol, Ruben Studdard, the 'Velvet Teddy Bear,' is a R&B sensation with a voice that leaves an unforgettable impression. His Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum career showcases his ability to infuse emotion into every performance. This show will also feature American Idol season 12 winner Candice Glover, as they perform hits from artists like Luther Vandross and Aretha Franklin. When these timeless singers grace our stage, you can anticipate a night of powerful melodies and a musical journey through the soulful sounds that define their remarkable careers."
