Motown Legends The Spinners Make Their Way to Senatobia's Heindl Center Stage Sept. 5

by Sarah Smith

Senatobia, MS (08/28/2025) — Northwest Mississippi Community College's Heindl Center for the Performing Arts welcomes Motown legends The Spinners to the stage on Sept. 5 at 7:30 p.m..

Known for their iconic songs, the Spinners have a legacy that spans 6 decades long. They came onto the scene in 1960s. The Spinners have rightfully earned a place as American soul icons. They're known for their songs such as "I'll Be Around," "How Could I Let You Get Away," among many other songs.

Although, all original members have passed, they continue on with predecessors who keep their music alive. The original Spinners were Henry Fambrough, Billy Henderson, Pervis Jackson, Bobbie Smith and Philippe Wynne. They defined what we know now as the sound of Philadelphia. Thom Bell helped build the team into the distinct sound that they're now known for.

"We welcome Motown legends and Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, The Spinners, to the Heindl Center stage," said Dr. Blake Bostick, director of the Heindl Center. "The Spinners' hit songs and smooth sound have made them one of the most iconic and enduring groups in R&B history. With a legacy spanning over six decades, they have been nominated for six Grammys, had 18 platinum and gold albums, sold over 2.5 million records, and had six #1 singles, including hits like 'I'll Be Around,' 'It's a Shame,' 'Could It Be I'm Falling In Love,' 'The Rubberband Man,' and 'Working My Way Back to You.' Don't miss the smooth sound of Philadelphia Soul in Senatobia on September 5 as we enjoy an evening of classic Motown music with The Spinners."
