Northwest Art Club to sponsor Sycamore Arts sale in February

Senatobia, MS (01/08/2018) — Les Fauves, the Northwest Mississippi Community College art club, will sponsor an art sale of paintings, drawings, and pottery featured by Sycamore Arts and Northwest art faculty and students during the month of February.

The sale will open to the public on Thursday, Feb. 1 from 5-7 p.m. in the Northwest art gallery on the Senatobia campus.

On Friday, Feb. 2, the sale will be open to the public from 8 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

According to Lawayne House, art chairman, the exhibit/sale will stay up until Feb. 23, during which time purchases can also be made. "The Les Fauves Club is sponsoring this sale. A portion of the funds will be given to Sycamore Arts, which means they will go right back into the community through their arts in education program," said House.

"Sycamore Arts is excited to partner with the Northwest Art Department to present this Exhibit. 'Art-tastic' is a representation of various art forms from talented local and regional artists, and it offers the public an opportunity to view and purchase quality original art for their home or business," said Karen Brown, Sycamore Arts director.

Gallery hours are 8 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. - noon, Fridays. Admission to the gallery is free.
