by Sarah Ashley Smith-Hutchinson

Senatobia, MS (11/17/2025) — Northwest Mississippi Community College's baseball alumnus Chris Lindsey was named a Northwest Hall of Famer at Northwest's Homecoming Celebrations in October.

In high school, Lindsey was a two-sport athlete playing for Millington Central High School. In his junior and senior seasons was selected to play on the Memphis Metro baseball team. When arriving in Senatobia, he was known almost instantly hitting a .414 in 1982 as a freshman in 1981.

Before his sophomore year arrived, he was already named team captain. In 1983, he tried to lead his team by example. During that year, Lindsey was named All-State Honorable Mention.

Lindsey said that he felt really honored to receive this award, but felt that anyone he played with could've won this award for their outstanding athleticism and teamwork. He said he shares this achievement with his teammates and head coaches because they're the ones who helped him get here.

After baseball, Lindsey became a salesman where he worked at Novartis Pharmacuticals where he worked for 31 years till he retired. Lindsey still a family man enjoys life with his wife Shelia and their five children and four grandchildren.
