Northwest Named a Silver Ranked Military Friendly School

by Sarah Ashley Smith-Hutchinson

Senatobia, MS (06/15/2026) — Northwest Mississippi Community College has been recognized again with a silver ranking as a military friendly school by Military Friendly.org. This recognition is given to colleges that meet specific criteria which deems their college friendly to veterans.

Northwest has received this recognition numerous times, marking their longstanding commitment to serving veterans in the community and is committed to their success.

"We are thrilled that NWCC is once again recognized as a military-friendly school," said Dr. Don Jones, assistant dean of Northwest's DeSoto Center. "Jessica Poole, our wonderful VA certifying official, goes above and beyond the call of duty to take care of these students and their families. The entire NWCC family is passionate about serving those who serve in the Armed Forces, and Dr. Heindl's administration has made our military services a priority. We are pleased to be among the select institutions that go out of their way to serve."

Military Friendly is owned and operated by Viqtory, Inc., a certified service-disabled, veteran-owned business not affiliated with or endorsed by the Department of War or any government entity. MilitaryFriendly.org is the home for Military Friendly ratings.
