by Sarah Smith

Senatobia, MS (05/31/2024) — Northwest Mississippi Community College nursing students and employees went to the Mississippi Organization for Associate Degree Nursing Conference (MOADN) in Biloxi April 11-12, where they networked with colleagues, received awards, and fellowshipped with fellow healthcare professionals.

Both NWCC students and faculty were nominated for awards, among the award winners were students Liz Alexander of Southaven, 2024 graduate who received Outstanding AND Student Award. The NWCC ADN Program won Most Impactful Community Service Award which was chosen from the digital Scrapbook entry.

"The MOADN Convention is a wonderful event that allows ADN Programs across the state to come together to collaborate, learn with and from one another all for the common goal of the success of the nursing profession," said Lesley Thweatt, director of Associate Degree Nursing Program. "We are very proud of our students and faculty!"

Representing students at the conference were NWCC students Alexander, MOSA (Mississippi Organization for Associate Nursing Degree Nursing) officers President Mollie Henson of Pope, and Secretary Brandi Taylor of Hernando.
