by Sarah Smith-Hutchinson

Senatobia, MS (10/22/2025) — Northwest Mississippi Community College's Dean of the DeSoto Center, Dr. Keith Reed was named Southaven Chamber of Commerce's 2025 Man of the Year. This is an annual award bestowed to the best of Southaven.

Dr. Reed said he was honored and surprised to be nominated for the award. He currently serves on the Southaven Chamber Board of Directors, Board of Directors for the Chamber Foundation, Finance Committee, and Curriculum Committee for Bridge Academy.

"To actually win the award has been surreal," said Dr. Reed. "I am eternally grateful for the Southaven Chamber and all of its members for their kindness and consideration. Southaven is an amazing city, the best in my opinion and I am so glad to be a part of this community. I became affiliated with the Southaven Chamber through Northwest DeSoto Center. The college has been a member for many, many years."

Dr. Reed was one of eight individuals and businesses honored alongside other impressive individuals including Ole Miss DeSoto's Kacy Dixon.

The Southaven Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization that strives to foster economic prosperity, community development, and business development in Southaven. They do this by advocating for local businesses, providing educational programming, and serving as a foundation to help assist small businesses.
