Northwest Theatre Presents the Holiday Showcase December 9 and 10

by Sarah Smith

Senatobia, MS (12/04/2024) — Northwest Mississippi Community College's theatre department is presenting its Holiday Theatre Showcase Dec. 9 and 10 at 7 p.m. in the Northwest Fine Arts Auditorium on the Senatobia campus.

"The Holiday Showcase is going to be in two acts," said Alyssa Algee, theatre instructor. "Act I will be a presentation of the musical theatre majors' and non-majors' pieces that they have worked on throughout the semester, and Act II will be a collection of Christmas songs and pieces."

Some of the musicals featured in the showcase include "Hello, Dolly," "Les Miserables," "Jekyll & Hyde," "Anastasia," "Shrek," "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," and "Newsies." The holiday pieces will be a variety of solos, duets and ensemble pieces, and the show is set to run about 100 minutes, according to Algee.

This showcase is an opportunity for the community to see the skills that these students have developed over time. Admission is free to students and the general public.
