by Sarah Smith

Senatobia, MS (12/29/2023) — The Heindl Center for the Performing Arts is kicking off its spring season with Celebrating Meat Loaf on Jan. 20 at 7:30 p.m. Celebrating Meat Loaf is a tribute group celebrating the life of legendary rocker, Marvin Lee Aday known by his stage name, "Meat Loaf."

Meat Loaf starred in films such as "Fight Club" and released hit songs like "Bat out of Hell" and "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)."

Meat Loaf was also a part of a duo called "Stoney & Meatloaf" which was a Motown duo where he collaborated with Shaun Murphy known by her stage name "Stoney" on a soul rock album.

This tribute group is comprised of former members of Meat Loaf's band and former "American Idol" winner, Caleb Johnson. Before he passed, this group was endorsed by Meat Loaf and is hailed as the ultimate tribute.

"We're kicking off our spring season with an electrifying rock 'n' roll performance from Celebrating Meat Loaf on Jan. 20," said director of the Heindl Center, Dr. Blake Bostick. "They are the only tribute act endorsed by Meat Loaf himself, who hand-picked Caleb Johnson, the winner of season 13 of American Idol, to carry his torch and embody his legacy. It's sure to be a rocking performance!"
