by Sarah Smith-Hutchinson

Senatobia, MS (04/13/2026) — Northwest Mississippi Community College's Heindl Center for the Performing Arts welcomes the United States Air Force's Airmen of Note to the stage on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.

"World-class jazz comes to the Heindl Center as the US Air Force Band 'Airmen of Note' takes the stage," said Dr. Blake Bostick, director of Heindl Center. "This is the first time we've had the privilege to host an armed forces band here, and as the premier jazz ensemble of the United States Air Force, this elite group will deliver an exciting mix of big band classics and modern jazz favorites. So don't miss this free Sunday afternoon concert on April 26 with the Airmen of Note live in Senatobia."

The Air Force Airmen of Note is one of six musical ensembles that form the U.S. Air Force Band. They were created in the 1950s, continuing the tradition of Major Glenn Miller's Army Air Forces band. The style that they perform is a mixture of big band and contemporary jazz. They have performed nationally and internationally, and are committed to musical excellence. Their goal is to honor those who have served, inspire American patriotism and service, and connect the global community. They hope to showcase the excellence of all Airmen and their selfless service and sacrifices.
