Kaedence Warren of Batesville Receives Prestigious FFA American Degree
Senatobia, MS (09/01/2025) — Northwest Mississippi Community College's sophomore Animal Science student, Kaedence Warren of Batesville, is set to receive the prestigious American Degree from Future Farmers of America (FFA) at their 98th annual convention and expo on Oct. 29 through Nov. 1 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
"I see Kaedence doing great things in agriculture and expanding her degree knowledge beyond NWCC," said CTE Instructor, Shelli Benton.
Benton said that Warren is a great student to be around has a passion for agriculture and wildlife. Her pursuing the American Degree which is the highest degree and honor achievable for the FFA is just an example of her dedication to the agriculture field. After Warren's time at Northwest, she plans on working as a vet assistant.
"It demonstrates the effort FFA members apply toward their supervised agricultural experience and the outstanding leadership abilities and community involvement they exhibited through their FFA career," Benton said. "American FFA Degree recipients show promise for the future and have gone above and beyond to achieve excellence. To be eligible to receive the American FFA Degree, members must meet qualifications such as receiving a State FFA Degree, holding active membership for the past three years, completing secondary instruction in an agricultural education program, and operating an outstanding supervised agricultural experience program. Community service, leadership abilities, and outstanding scholastic achievement are also required."
Outside of school, Warren works at Tractor Supply, Co., and hangs out with her dogs, Indy and Nola. In the future, she hopes to keep contributing to the world of agriculture because it has been a longstanding passion of hers.
"I cared about my education, but I've always paid more attention to things outside," Warren said.
Future Farmers of America is an organization that supports civic duty, agricultural education, and leadership. The goal of FFA is to develop potential and train them for success. It is built on an intracurricular organization that focus on three components of agricultural organization which are classroom/laboratory, service or experimental based learning, and then FFA which focuses on leadership, personal growth and development.
