Spring 2023 Graduates Announced by Northwest Officials

Northwest Mississippi Community College officials announced 967 graduates have been awarded degrees and certificates for the Spring 2023 semester. Degrees were officially conferred by Dr. Michael Heindl, Northwest president, on May 12, during the college's 113th Commencement. Serving as Commencement speaker for Academic and Career-Technical Education graduation was Kell Smith, executive director of the Mississippi Community College Board. For the School of Health Sciences Commencement, the speaker was Dr. Melissa Temple, director of nursing education at the Mississippi Institution of Higher Learning.

PTK Theta Sigma chapter initiates new members

Northwest Mississippi Community College's Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society welcomed 37 students into the Theta Sigma chapter on the Senatobia campus during its fall induction ceremony Sept. 19 at the Haraway Center. Following a welcome by PTK Advisor and District Director of Social Sciences Instruction Kristin Davis, new officers were installed into the organization. Keynote speaker for the event was Northwest President, Dr. Michael J. Heindl, who spoke about student success among PTK members. New members were then inducted through the pledge, signing of the oath, and lighting the flame of knowledge.
